November’24 Updates

The latest platform update introduces new banner and label designs, new SRT protocol cameras, and much more.

New banners and labels

We have redesigned existing banner and label styles and added new ones to bring higher quality and customization to your content. Among the new features, you can now add your logo to some designs, as well as define two primary/secondary colors for both the elements and text fonts.

The process is very simple. In the templates section, you can set your default styles by following these steps:

  1. Create a new style.
  2. Change the name to identify it in your events.
  3. Choose from the 6 possible shapes:
    • Ribbon
    • Bubble
    • Line
    • Block
    • Circle
    • Knife
  4. Adapt the primary and secondary colors to match your brand or content.
  5. Set the primary and secondary font colors.
  6. Add a logo if the selected style allows it.
  7. Choose the font type for your style.

Once in your event, go to the Banners section, and select the newly created design from the dropdown menu. You can edit some elements at this point if you wish.

Use it in your labels to display the names of your speakers in the speaking room. You can adjust the size with the scale slider.

You can also create custom banners with one or two lines, using different styles that incorporate your branding. Once created, they can be displayed on-screen at any time with a click, and you can manage their visibility with the switch at the top of the tab.

*In upcoming updates, we will include a slider to adjust banner size, just as with labels.

SRT protocol

Another important new feature in this update is the option to add cameras using the SRT protocol. The process is very similar to the existing RTMP protocol. In the inputs section, you can select “Capture external stream,” choose SRT, define the camera name for easy identification, and “Create.” This will provide the SRT link to connect your broadcast software (OBS, vMix, Wirecast, etc.) to your event.

This protocol can be used both in studio mode with inputs, scenes, graphics, etc., as well as with an external pre-produced feed. Both protocols are compatible at the same time, so you can even have a main and backup signal combined.

Additional features

Other new features included in recent updates are:

  • Option to limit the number of attendees at an event. By setting a maximum number, registration will close once the limit is reached.
  • Ability to obtain a “clean” link to the broadcast without landing pages, forms, or interactive options. This is useful for embedding a streamlined version or directly controlling the broadcast result without going through all the prior steps.
  • A new scene available in Studio, the “Sidebar,” which allows a large camera view combined with a secondary view that crops the original feed. This is ideal for screen-sharing scenes where it’s important for the presenter to be more visible than usual.
  • Improved mobile device viewing. We’ve added a button to maximize the event room, which removes unnecessary space and allows for screen content and interaction tab proportion adjustments.

And that concludes Watchity product updates. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the support team.
