Watchity product update – May 2026

We have launched the Watchity Product Update for May 2026, one of the platform’s most significant advancements in recent years, both functionally and technologically. Behind this release lies a major development effort and a deep evolution of the platform’s internal architecture. The goal was clear: to deliver a smoother, more immediate user experience ready for increasingly demanding audiovisual production environments.

The improvements span virtually every area of the platform: real-time operations, multicamera production, professional ingest, recording automation, content reuse, graphic flexibility, collaboration, and overall user experience. The result is a more powerful, agile, and production-ready platform capable of handling live productions, 24/7 channels, webinars, and professional audiovisual ecosystems from a single cloud environment.

Below is a detailed overview of everything included in this new release:

Real-time automatic captioning and translation (beta, on request)

One of the most important new features in this release: Watchity now includes real-time automatic captioning and translation for live events and broadcasts.

This means you can automatically generate live subtitles and translate them into multiple languages during the broadcast itself, without manual intervention. A capability that opens the door to much more accessible, international, and globally oriented viewing experiences.

This functionality is especially designed for webinars, corporate events, public institutions, conferences, and any environment where accessibility and multilingual reach are essential. The feature is currently in beta and available on request — if you would like to try it, please contact our support team.

New visual design and optimization of Live Studio and Speaking Room

We have completely redesigned the Watchity Studio and Speaking Room interfaces. The result is a more modern, clearer, and smoother user experience.

But beyond the visual redesign, we have implemented a new real-time synchronization architecture that dramatically improves operational speed and responsiveness during live production. Actions such as switching cameras, launching lower thirds, changing scenes, or activating graphic elements are now reflected almost instantly, resulting in a much more agile and precise production experience.

This new architecture also introduces advanced mirroring capabilities: changes made from one computer are automatically synchronized across other connected devices, enabling collaborative workflows and coordinated operations among live production teams.

New “Switch” scene mode with Multicamera Production

We are introducing a new scene mode called “Switch” that replicates the experience of professional multicamera production, enabling immediate switching between cameras and other video sources.

Each time a new camera or source is selected, the signal automatically switches to full screen instantly, without cuts or intermediate transitions. The result is a much smoother and more natural production experience, closely aligned with what is expected from a professional broadcast production system.

Visual camera reordering via Drag & Drop

From now on, the order of cameras and previews directly determines their position within each scene. And reorganizing them is as simple as dragging and dropping.

Thanks to the new visual drag-and-drop reordering system, you can modify scene compositions much more quickly, intuitively, and flexibly during live production without interrupting the workflow. In addition, the camera selected as featured is automatically moved to the first position in the list.

New live pull ingest modes for RTMP, HLS, and SRT

We are introducing new ingest types through RTMP Pull, HLS Pull, and SRT Pull, significantly expanding integration possibilities with external sources, third-party platforms, and broadcast environments.

Unlike traditional “push” workflows, where the sender delivers the signal to Watchity, the new Pull modes allow the platform itself to automatically connect to a remote URL or stream in order to capture the signal. This enables scenarios such as:

  • Reusing signals already published on other platforms
  • Connecting external encoders or systems without configuring outbound delivery
  • Integrating remote broadcasts
  • Capturing already distributed HLS signals
  • Receiving SRT contributions from professional broadcast infrastructures

Overall, these new input options provide greater operational flexibility and simplify certain technical workflows in complex live productions.

New custom banners based on external templates

Watchity now allows users to upload externally designed graphic templates to use as the foundation for creating new lower thirds and dynamic banners.

This makes it possible to reuse corporate designs or advanced creative assets created outside the platform while maintaining the ability to edit text and quickly generate new variations during live production. This new functionality complements Watchity’s existing configurable template gallery system, providing greater graphic flexibility and enabling better adaptation to visual identities, events, and advanced branding requirements.

Multiple simultaneous screen shares

The Speaking Room now supports multiple simultaneous screen shares, allowing several participants to share content at the same time within a single session.

Unlike the previous version, where only one active screen share was possible, producers now have permanent access to all shared screens and can switch between them instantly without waiting for another participant to stop sharing. This eliminates downtime and reduces interruptions, greatly improving workflows in webinars, panel discussions, product demos, training sessions, and collaborative events.

Additionally, the platform allows multiple screens to be displayed simultaneously within the same scene, enabling use cases such as:

  • Comparisons between applications or documents
  • Parallel technical demonstrations
  • Simultaneous analysis of data and presentations
  • Training sessions combining multiple content sources at once

An improvement that delivers a much more flexible, dynamic, and professional production experience for advanced online events.

24/7 Live channels with scheduled recurring recordings

The 24/7 linear streaming functionality, previously available only for specific projects, is now available to all Watchity customers as an add-on. To include it in your plan, please contact our sales team.

This functionality enables the management of permanent channels and continuous live signals directly from the platform, supporting use cases such as corporate channels, online TV stations, continuous events, or permanent institutional broadcasts.

In addition, we are introducing a new recurring recording system per stream, allowing users to define automatic recording schedules for any 24/7 broadcast. The generated recordings are automatically converted into VOD assets within the platform, facilitating workflows such as automatic program archiving, on-demand content generation, institutional broadcast preservation, content library creation, or automated publishing of recorded streams.

Live recording storage in the Media Library

Live productions streamed through Watchity can now be automatically stored as assets within your account’s media library, making organization, classification, and future reuse much easier.

This allows broadcast content to integrate directly into the platform’s audiovisual management ecosystem, simplifying archiving, clipping, editing, and on-demand publishing workflows. And it’s not just the final output signal that can be recorded: you can also preserve the different ingest signals used during the live production — including individual cameras, presentations, and external sources — providing more audiovisual resources and greater flexibility for editing and content reuse.

This advanced functionality is activated on request. If you are interested, please contact our support team.

Advanced playback start for live video broadcasts

The video playout functionality within live productions now includes the ability to start playback from a specific point in the content.

This allows pre-recorded videos to be launched directly from the exact desired moment, without the need to previously edit the file or manually play unnecessary segments.

The new feature greatly streamlines live production workflows and is especially useful for:

  • playing highlights or specific clips,
  • retrieving specific moments from a recording,
  • broadcasting segments adapted to different events,
  • or working with long-form content in a much more flexible and efficient way during production.

New light mode

Following current UX and digital workspace trends, Watchity now includes a light mode across the entire platform, complementing the traditional dark mode. A brighter and more adaptable experience for different usage contexts, personal preferences, and working conditions, while maintaining the same visual and operational consistency across all modules.

If you have any questions about these new features or would like to activate any of the functionalities available on request, please do not hesitate to contact our team.
