When you create an Event of the type ‘Production’ or ‘Live Distribution’ you will have the option to broadcast to various destinations. Besides being able to broadcast on Social Networks, you can broadcast to web players or other personalized destinations (RTMP).
What are my options? What do I need?
- Create a customizable Watchity player (embed / URL)
Use this option if you need to create a web player to embed it on your web page (embed), or to share it with your audience (link). Through the Watchity players, you can also add a series of additional personalization options (form, chat, etc.).
- Connect to an external publishing point (HLS or RTMP)
Use this option if you want to create other outputs to external players, other types of RTMP publishing like Social Networks or even ingest the signal of the program made in a traditional video system (decoder, IP encoder to SDI, etc). - Connect to a stored channel
Use this option if you need a regular destination broadcast point contact one of our agents to set up a permanent player/embed.
Watchity Player (embed o URL) #
This option allows you to generate a web player that you can embed on your web page or share it in link format. When you start broadcasting, the content will be visible on your Watchity player. Choose the embed or link mode of use to easily reach your audience.
Additional configuration options: #
Using this type of player, you can also customize different functionalities: add a registration form, activate chat during the broadcast, create restricted lists, send personalized reminders, etc.
- Add access form: by enabling this option, the audience must fill in a series of fields to access the broadcast. You can add custom text-type fields that the audience must fill in (for example, “name and surname”), checkbox-type fields that the audience must accept (for example, “I accept the privacy policy”), or description type fields to add information for the audience.
- Send email reminders: by enabling this option, viewers who register prior to the start of the broadcast will receive a notification in their calendar service (outlook or google calendar).
- Restricted broadcast: by enabling this option, you can block access to unwanted viewers. Upload a listing (.CSV) with authorized users.
- Activate chat: by enabling this option, you will have a chat for the audience that can be public or private.
Remember that from the Event configuration, either a ‘Production’ or a ‘Live Distribution’, you can download the registration reports and control the conversation in all chats. This is another exclusive feature if you use the Watchity player.
Once you have configured your player, you can always edit it again to modify the text fields, the possibility of chat (with its different configurations), add files . csv to restrict access, etc.
Connects to an external publishing point (HLS or RTMP) #
External Player (HLS) #
This option allows you to connect with an external web player. When you start the broadcast, the content will be visible on your commercial player (TheoPlayer, Brightcove, JW Player, etc). Name the output and get the HLS code (.m3u8) that you must enter into your playing system.
RTMP publication points (push) #
This option allows you to connect to RTMP publication points. When you start the broadcast, the content will be visible in your destinations, whether they are Social Networks that you do not have the credentials, video apps, OTT platforms or other custom destinations such as external players and decoders (Kaltura, Akamai, etc).

This option allows you to obtain the RTMP code of the program signal made in the Virtual Studio or the Streaming Manager. When you start broadcasting, the content will be visible on your traditional video system (decoder, IP to SDI encoder, etc.). Broadcast from Watchity to your decoding system using an RTMP stream.
Connect to a stored channel #
Once the channel is set up by the Watchity team, you can select it in the drop-down box. The configuration is the same as Watchity Player (Embed or Url). The functionalities included in the form are the same.
