Switch and overlay elements, whether they are contributions or multimedia files, according to the layered operation of the Virtual Studio.
Before you can interact with an element in the Virtual Studio, you must define the position you want it to occupy in the program view. Currently, you can define an item (contribution, image or video) in fullscreen position or in peripheral positions (top corners, bottom corners or subtitles).
Taking into account these positions, in the Virtual Studio, you have up to four layers on which to make your production. Choose in which layer you want to place your elements (contributions, images or videos). The lower layer (Layer 0) is reserved for the elements you have defined in the ‘Fullscreen’ position. While the upper layers (Layer 1, 2, 3) will serve you to place the elements you have defined in peripheral positions, such as logos or subtitles.
Once you have defined the position and the layer for an element, you can launch it to the program view by double-clicking on it.
FULLSCREEN ITEMS:
- The contributions (mobile or broadcast) or multimedia files (images or videos) that you have defined in the ‘fullscreen‘ position will occupy the lower layer (Layer 0).
An element in fullscreen can only be switched into another element placed in its same position and layer. Thus, an element in fullscreen can only be switched into another element in fullscreen.
Depending on the type of elements that you want to switch, the transition between them will be different (video to video, contribution to video, contribution to image, etc.). You can check all the transitions available here.
OVERLAY & PIP ITEMS:
- The contributions (mobile or broadcast) or multimedia files (images or videos) that you have defined in peripheral positions (corners or subtitles), may occupy the upper layers (Layers 1, 2, 3).
An element in a peripheral position (upper corners, lower corners or subtitles) can only be switched into another element in its same position and layer. So, for example, a logo that has been defined in ‘top left’ and set in ‘Layer 3’, can only be switched into another element defined in ‘top left’ and set in ‘Layer 3’. Otherwise, the elements will overlay.
Depending on the type of elements that you want to switch, the transition between them will be different (video to video, contribution to video, contribution to image, etc.). You can check all the transitions available here.
