Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) is a tool that allows you to capture images from a computer, how a powerpoint presentation (through screenshot), or capture video sources, webcams and/or connected video cameras to the computer.
In addition, OBS has the capacity to send these images to your Live Broadcast (Production or Live Broadcast type) in Watchity, in the form of a video contribution (using the RTMP protocol).
Settings for capturing images or video sources in OBS:
- Start OBS and create a scene by clicking “+” in the Scenes section.
- Once the scene is created, add a source by clicking “+” in the Fonts section.
- Select the type of font you want to add.
A) In the case of screenshot:
Select Capture Window.
Select the window to capture.
Rescale the image if necessary.
B) In the case that the source is a video capture device:
Select the Video capture device.
Select the capture device from the list.
Rescale the image if necessary. - Once we have the source added to the scene, go to Settings.
- In Output, configure the Live Broadcast parameters with the following parameters:
6. In Broadcast, select the type Customize the relay server.
7. Copy the codes of the video contribution that Watchity provides you when creating a new video contribution and paste them in URL and stream key.
8. Click on Apply and OK.
9. OBS is already configured to send video to your live. Click on Start transmission, in the main window of the program.
